Boko Haram Plans More Attacks, Recruits Many Young People

Boko Haram Plans More Attacks, Recruits Many Young People

The Nigerian Islamist movement Boko Haram has recruited and trained hundreds of young Cameroonians to carry out attacks in their own country, according to the police and civilians.
As the militant group seeks to gain a foothold in the poor, rural north of Cameroon, experts warn that violence may spread beyond border areas to other parts of the central African country.

“Boko Haram has recruited many young people” from Cameroon’s Far North region, a police officer from the area told AFP on condition of anonymity.
The hardline movement, whose loosely translated name means “Western education is forbidden”, has for years sown terror throughout Nigeria’s northeast, then trained youths “to attack Cameroon”, the officer said.

“They are now asking them to prove themselves on home ground,” he said.
On Wednesday, the Islamists murdered nine passengers on a bus and a soldier in a separate vehicle in a remote northern town, according to Cameroon’s state radio and local paramilitary police.

Precise figures are unavailable on how many young Cameroonians have been recruited by Boko Haram, but security sources estimate the number to be in the hundreds.

In April, a local police inspector said that close to 200 young people — aged 15-19 years — were recruited in just two months in Kolofata, a small border town in the Far North.

Here Is What Actually Happens When A Person Is Infected With The Ebola Virus

The worst outbreak of Ebola virus in history — happening now in West Africa — has claimed more than 700 lives, according to the latest count from the World Health Organization. The deaths occurred in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea and Nigeria.
“This outbreak is moving faster than our efforts to control it,” Margaret Chan, chief of the World Health Organization, said at a meeting.
The Zaire strain of the Ebola virus that’s involved in the current outbreak has had a fatality rate in the past of up to 90 percent. However, the fatality rate of the current outbreak is lower. That’s because “90 percent is when you receive absolutely no medical care,”said Dr. Nahid Bhadelia, M.D., the associate hospital epidemiologist at Boston Medical Center and director of Infection Control at Boston University’s National Emerging Infectious Disease Laboratories.
“Right now you’re seeing with supportive care, there’s a 60 percent mortality in the field,” she told HuffPost.
But how exactly does the virus work to provoke such extreme symptoms — Ebola is notorious for causing, in some cases, bleeding from the eyes and ears — and cause death? Bhadelia explained why the body has such a hard time fighting off the deadly virus:

Israel, Hamas Start 72-Hour Cease-Fire In Gaza

Israel, Hamas Start 72-Hour Cease-Fire In Gaza

Israel and Hamas started a 72-hour cease-fire in Gaza Tuesday as Israeli forces appeared to be winding down their monthlong offensive in the Palestinian territory.
The deal followed Israel’s pullout of most of its forces from the Gaza Strip over the weekend. The military said Monday that it had completed the core mission of its operation—neutralizing tunnels that militants used for cross-border attacks. But Israel said it remained on alert to relaunch the offensive if rocket fire from Gaza persisted.
No previous cease-fire in this conflict has lasted more than a day, but U.S. officials said they were hopeful that this one would work. The truce brokered by Egypt set the stage for a new round of indirect talks in Cairo between Israel and the Islamist rulers of Gaza on terms for ending the deadliest of their three conflicts in less than six years.

Both sides are under pressure to stop fighting. Israel said it destroyed more than a third of Hamas’s estimated arsenal of 10,000 rockets and razed more than 30 tunnels. The fighting left Hamas in charge of a territory with severe shortages of electricity and clean water and at least 260,000 of its 1.8 million people displaced, the U.N. said.

It must be difficult having a bum the size of Kim Kardashian’s.

Maybe her rapper husband Kanye West helped to yank them up over her incredible curves and jiggle the zip, because it can’t have been achieved single-handedly.
Thinking about it, we did see two trusty male helpers rubbing sand on her famous buttocks at the beach the other day, maybe they were on hand to grab one leg each.
The 33-year-old beauty teamed her tight ripped jeans with a pair of nude strappy sandals, a dark cream top and light cream zip-up jacket, which she left open to expose her tanned cleavage.
